Town centre improvement works - schedule up-dated February 8  High Street West Paving work is now underway along High Street West (south side). The area between Chapel Street and George Street is almost complete with only minor works outstanding. Works between George Street and Cross Street are also underway. This section has been divided into two with work commencing at the Cross Street Junction working towards George Street. Work to the lower section is due to begin on February 12. Work to the section from Cross Street to Market Street will commence on February 21. Work to install bus stop kerbs along the final section of High Street West (north side junction with Arundel Street) is also in progress. Work to High Street East (north side) will commence on February 14 whilst work to High Street East (south side) will be delivered in two sections. The area from the Victoria Street junction to Smithy Fold will begin on February 21, with work from Smithy Fold to the petrol station commencing March 3. Victoria Street Work to Victoria Street (east side) is now underway. In order to minimise disruption whilst work is carried out along this section Morrison Highway Maintenance will carry out some work at weekends. Weekend working will commence on February 16 for approximately 4 weeks. Norfolk Street/Co-op/Henry Street link Work to the east side of Norfolk Street is now complete and work is currently underway to the west section. Work is also continuing to the Henry Street/Co-op steps. Paving to footpaths outside the Co-op entrance will continue during week commencing February 11 with surfacing work to the car park entrance undertaken in the week commencing February 18. Paving to the Henry Street/Norfolk Street junction is due to begin on February 11. Traffic and pedestrian management Alternative traffic and pedestrian management arrangements will be in place from February 14 to allow work to continue along the junctions of Norfolk Street/Victoria Street and High Street East.
