costs - so far - for the Longdendale Bypass reach £13.7
million. The progress has been delayed sveral times now due to erors by
the Highways Agency. The budget for the whole project was estimated to
be £184m in March 2007 (doubled from £90m in 2003),
but this now looks certain to rise.

The Public Inquiry into the Longdendale Bypass has
been 'suspended indefinitely' due to the Highways Agency being unable
to tell the Inspector when their evidence will be ready.
