Stop the War is organising a demonstration which will call for a change of policy not just a change of leader, in line with the open letter and petition to the next prime minister, which calls for: * An end to the Iraq War * No attack on Iran * British foreign policy which is independent of America. FOR DETAILS OF OPEN LETTER SEE: http://www.stopwar.org.uk/ To help build support for the June 24 demonstration, we need to use every opportunity to add as many signatories as possible to the open letter/petition, which will be delivered to Downing Street. In particular, local Stop the War groups should be targeting Labour MPs, councillors, party officials and trade union representatives. The petition can also be used on street stalls and taken round workplaces, colleges, community centres etc. FULL DETAILS FOR THE DEMONSTRATION ON 24 JUNE WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY. ******************************* 2) LABOUR LEADERSHIP HUSTINGS In May and June, Labour is holding a series of hustings around the country, as part of the campaign for choosing its new leader.
