Let
us entertain you
Glossop, being located on the fringe of the Peak District National Park and with good access to Manchester by road and rail, is already a popular tourist destination. The Trans-Pennine Trail attracts walkers, cyclists and horse-riders to the area to experience the beauty of the Peak. There are also many events bringing even more visitors to the town centre throughout the year. Glossop Arts and Leisure Association (GALA) organises the town's popular carnival, with an abundance of bright and decorative floats which parade through the town centre to Manor Park. They are also responsible for the famous Victorian Weekend, which attracts visitors from all over the north west. Musical and stage productions take place in venues such as the Partington Theatre. Local organisations also provide the best in classical and world music. After a hard day exploring Glossop's rich and varied retail outlets, why not wind down with a drink or meal to refresh and revitalise you? Sit back with a coffee in one of the cafés - such as Barista or Glossop Delicatessen - savouring fresh, home-cooked produce. Or perhaps a tipple in one of the friendly local pubs around the town centre, where you can relax with a drink in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With one of the highest concentrations of bars, pubs and restaurants in the UK, the town offers everything from loud and lively to exclusive bistros and authentic dining experiences from all over the globe. Whether your preference is Spanish, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Turkish or Greek, you'll find your tastebuds well satisfied by what's on offer. |
