Ozbox, a boxing based fitness scheme has been found a long term home at Whitfield Youth Club. Funding being provided by through the B Safe project by erbyshire County Council Youth Service
Specialist equipment has been installed at the centre and youth staff have had training on how to deliver Ozbox sessions by coaches from the Amateur Boxing Association.
Ozbox was first introduced by police more than six years ago in Chesterfield. Youngsters take part in a combination of circuit training and boxing training with the aim of improving fitness levels, motivation and self confidence.
The facilities were officially launched to youngsters on Friday, May 6 and sessions are on offer to youngsters at the youth club every Friday.
