High Peak households have been offered an unmissable chance to get toasty warm while saving money hand over fist.
The Borough Council has joined forces with Apex Carbon Solutions to stage a prize draw featuring free home insulation for one lucky customer that has a free home energy survey carried out as part of the popular Warmstreets scheme intended to reduce energy bills, keep people warm and shrink the area’s carbon footprint.
Running from Monday, March 21 to Friday, May 6, the promotion will open the door to free loft and/or cavity wall insulation to a value of around £300, depending on the findings of the survey.
Prize draw aside, all private householders and tenants are eligible for a generous grant, requiring either no contribution towards insulation costs or as little as £99. The typical cost of the householder contribution for cavity wall insulation is just £149.
More than 540 free or discounted loft and cavity wall insulation measure have been installed across High Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands since Warmstreets started 12 months ago. Together, these households will save nearly £80,000 on their fuel bills while reducing Co2 emissions across the borough by about 800 tonnes.
