An
Invitation to join our 100 CLUB The trust has built a library
at Meetse A Bophelo School, the poorest of the four schools which it
supports. This school of 2,500 pupils is located in the squatter camp
area of Mamelodi. It has very few books and they were housed in a
converted shack, originally repaired and painted by Gill Taylor. Below is the new library. It is a large, sturdy structure with a pitched roof, and a long veranda to give shade from sun and rain, but it is empty.
Thanks to the generosity of individuals, and of a number of the primary schools in Glossop (thank you all) we are beginning to stock the new library with books. WHAT NEXT? The library project now needs on-going support. This will allow the headteacher and his staff:
Could you afford to contribute a small amount each month to join our 100 Club and support the on-going work of the Mamelodi Trust? Pay £2.00 or more each month by standing order and your name will be entered into a monthly draw on the last Wednesday of the month. Some of the money will be used to pay out prizes (£25, £10, £5) to the three winners each month, and the rest will go to support the work of the trust. None of the money received will be spent on administration. Q. Can I pay more than £2.00 per month? A. YES PLEASE! £4.00 will buy two entries; £10.00 will buy five entries into the draw each month. Q. Can I pay annually instead of monthly? A. Yes - it will reduce the administrative work. Q. How can I join? A. Print and complete the standing order form below then return it to: The Mamelodi Trust 100 Club, c/o Carole Hassell, 110 Lee Mount, Off Charlestown Road, Glossop, SK13 8LB who will forward it to your bank when the contact details have been recorded. Q. How will I know who has won? A. By email, check the website, or ring 01457 854543.
