  GLOSSOP CONCERT SOCIETY: Coffee concerts

Coffee Concerts

Saturday mornings, 11.00am - 12 noon
at the Partington Theatre, Henry Street

£3.50 (under-18s free)

Saturday, March 11 at 11.00am
The Northumbrian Pipes

Far removed from the strident sound of the Scottish bagpipes, the Northumbrian pipes produce a delicate, magical tone. Mark Jordan, as well as being a clarinet player with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, is a nationally renowned exponent of this beautiful folk instrument. Join us for a fascinating introduction to this little-known gem of folk culture.

Saturday, May 27 at 11.00am
The Sound of Carnival

Rio de Janeiro is the home of carnival and of Samba dancing. With its interlacing pounding rhythms, Samba drumming has become a popular pastime over recent years. Laszlo Palko presents an introduction to this exotic, invigorating entertainment. Join in the fun and have  a bash!
