Glossopdale Fairtrade Campaign marked Fairtrade Fortnight (Monday, February 22 - Sunday, March 7, 2010) with a 'design a poster' competition which brought in more than 250 entries from seven schools.
Local artist Ghislaine Howard picked an eye
catching design (left) by Holly King, aged 9, of All Saints Primary School as the winning entry. The second prize winner (right) was by Joseph Binns in Year 5
at Padfield Primary School. |

Runners up were: Caitlin Hillier and Mariana Conway (St Luke's Primary, Glossop), Lauren (St Andrew's Primary, Hadfield), Robert Daniels, Jessica Harbut, Holly Garbett and Kiera McClelland (Simmondley Primary), Florence Woolley (Duke of Norfolk School, Glossop) and Poppy Grundy (Padfield Primary).

Prizes were awarded to the young artists on Saturday, March 6, in Glossop Library, where the entries were on display. A
big thank you to all entrants and participating schools for supporting
the campaign to achieve Fairtrade status for Glossopdale.
