[ Picture to come ] A little bit of my history: I have lived in the UK for 19 years, of which the first year as an au-pair to a family with two children in Ashton-under-Lyne. I 'emigrated' from Holland back in 1990 as I love the people and the way of life here (well it can't be the weather can it?). My reason for joining Ladies Circle is, with all my family still living in Holland, there are times when I feel a bit of a gap and I also have more time on my hands now that our two children are in full time school and me just working part-time. A few years ago a friend of mine mentioned Ladies Circle to me and in 2007 I joined Glossop Ladies Circle. I am amazed at how much we have done since then and how many new people I have met. My social life has become much more active and varied! The good thing also is that apart from all the Ladies' outings and get-togethers, there are also events which include partners and children. It is an easy way to build a network of friends and I am really enjoying it.
