Tony Kemp3High Peak borough council's executive councillor for regeneration, Councillor Tony Kemp (right), has announced a full review of services provided for visitors and tourists in Glossop and the Glossopdale area.

Old Glossop Independent Councillor Ivan Bell, who maintains the website for the Tourist Information Centre, has criticised the imbalance between the council's spending on visitor services in Glossop and Buxton.

Glossop Heritage TrustGlossop Heritage Trust is still very much alive and has a new website designed and maintained by genealogist Graham Hadfield. Details here. Acting chairman Tony Wright says: "The trust's collection of local artefacts, records and memorabilia is currently in store but we are still keen to receive further donations of items of local interest. We would be sad to see things being chucked out when people are clearing their wardrobes!"

You can email them at mhbhistory@aol.com.
