The controversial proposed A628 Mottram Longdendale Tintwistle bypass has become a victim of the Government spending cuts, according to Tom Rowley in the Glossop Advertiser.

But the Gover nment has no objection to the proposed Tesco Extra at Hattersley, according to the nomottrambypass blog.

Glossop, Hyde and District Round Table has its annual Manor Park Bonfire and Firework Extravaganza on Saturday, November 6. Tintwistle Band plays from 6.00pm; the Mayor of High Peak, Councillor Graham Oakley, and Guy Fawkes will light the bonfire at 6.45pm; firework display starts at 7.00pm. Adult £5; concessions £3; family ticket £15. Profits for local charities.
